Especially for Youth Programs has set aside limited funds to help qualified applicants who are in financial need to attend EFY. Awards are based on an assessment of financial need and availability of funds. Financial aid is only a PARTIAL scholarship. This is so we can help as many youth as possible.

Financial aid is only for EFY Overnight sessions and cannot be applied to EFY Stay-at-Home sessions (no exceptions). NOTE: No applicant will receive EFY financial aid more than two times.

EFY Financial Aid applications were available starting October 13, 2016 for EFY 2017 sessions and closed on February 2, 2017. All those seeking financial aid must fill out an application. Notification of financial aid decisions can take place between 2–4 weeks of application, pending a prompt response from your bishop or branch president.

Application Process

To apply for financial aid for more than one child, you must fill out a separate application for EACH child.

All sections of the application must be completed before it can be processed.

  • Apply for each child under separate user IDs and passwords.
    • When you create a profile, please use the child’s name and his or her date of birth. If you submit a parent’s name and birth date instead, the computer will identify the child as ineligible to attend EFY or receive financial assistance.
    • Use the same user name and password for EFY registration and the financial aid application. This will ensure that the financial aid is applied to the correct registration.
    • Remember to log out after completing one application before you begin another one. This will ensure that each child’s application is received properly.
  • We will send your bishop or branch president an email so he can verify the information you provided in your application and provide his insight on your situation.
    • Before you submit your application, please ask your bishop or branch president to approve the release of his email address for this purpose.
    • Make sure the email address you enter is correct. If you submit an incorrect email address, we will be unable to contact your bishop or branch president, and your financial aid application cannot be considered.
    • If your bishop or branch president changes after you apply, call the EFY office to update the information.
  • If your bishop responds to the email he is sent, verifying applicant circumstances, you should be notified of a decision within 2–4 weeks of your application date.
    • The sooner you apply for financial aid, the sooner you will be notified of an award decision.

Any applicant who is not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints should please contact our office at 801-422-3817, ext. 2, and we will help in the application process.

NOTE: A completed financial aid application does not reserve a spot in an EFY session, nor does the offer or acceptance of an award guarantee a spot in any EFY session.

If you have questions about the financial aid process that were not answered above, please look below. If you do not find the answer, please call our office at 801-422-3817, ext. 2.
