Continue on for information about Step 1.

Step 1: Submit Application

Please read and understand the job requirements and qualifications for the position(s) you are applying for.

  1. Sign in to the EFY Employment Center to submit your application. You will need to use your BYU Net ID and password. If you do not have a BYU Net ID, you will need to create one before submitting an application.
    • If you have worked for EFY or been associated with BYU in previous years, you already have a Net ID. Do not create a new Net ID. If you have forgotten your password, use the link below:
      • Reset Password
      • If you are still having troubles accessing your account, please contact Information Technology at 801-422-4000.
  2. Update all personal contact information. Should your personal contact information change at any time, please go back in and update it as soon as possible.
  3. Return to the employment center and select "Apply for a job."
  4. Select the job that applies to you. Follow the instructions provided.
    • NOTE: In order to be considered a returning counselor you must have previously worked at least two weeks for EFY.
  5. Complete all nine pages of the application. Once you have completed the application, be sure to select SUBMIT on the last page. If you will need to return to the application before submitting, select SAVE.

Be sure that the email address, mailing address, and phone number on your application and Net ID account are kept current. This is very important, as these are our only forms of communication with applicants.

Continue on to Step 2.

Step 2: Online interview

Please note that returning counselor applicants will not complete an online or an in-person interview.

HireVue Interview

**Important: Please add "" to your email contact list to ensure that you receive the HireVue interview invitation. Be sure to check your spam and junk mail folders frequently.

  1. If selected past the first portion of the hiring process, an email should be sent to the applicant between 2-4 weeks of submitting an application, inviting him or her to complete an online video interview.
    1. Applicants only need to complete one online interview regardless of how many positions they have applied for, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF health counselors, who will need to complete a separate interview for this position.
  2. The applicant will be asked to record answers to interview questions. Please remember that a video interview is considered an interview, and it is the first time the EFY Hiring committee will evaluate you. Please dress and respond as you would in an in-person interview.
  3. The online interview must be completed within one week. If an applicant does not complete the interview within this time frame, he or she may not be considered for the position.
  4. After it is submitted, the video interview will be viewed by the EFY Hiring committee.
  5. If the applicant receives a high enough rating on his or her video interview, he or she will be invited for an in-person interview via email.

Continue on to Step 3.

Step 3: In-person interview

Please note that returning counselor applicants will not complete an online or an in-person interview.

  1. Once invited via email, follow the link provided to schedule an interview. All interviews will be in the state of Utah. To see a list of locations we will be holding interviews this year, please see our interview schedule.
    1. If you do not see available time slots online, please call EFY Hiring to schedule your interview.
    2. Like the HireVue interview, applicants only need to complete one in-person interview regardless of how many positions they have applied for. Individuals who are applying for both a Health Counselor and Counselor position will complete one combined in-person interview.
    3. Applicants must schedule their in-person interview within one week of receiving the email invitation. If you do not sign up your in-person interview within seven days, the hiring committee will assume you are no longer interested in the position and your application will be withdrawn.
  2. Any rescheduling of interviews must be made at least one business day before the original interview date. If you are having difficulty making changes to your scheduled interview, please contact the EFY office.
  3. Make sure to bring your scriptures and come dressed for a job interview.
  4. Most interviews last 30 minutes.

There may be multiple applicants with you in your interview.
