Meet Your Counselor

Welcome to EFY! Youth are introduced to their counselor for the week and meet the rest of their group. They have a chance to get to know each other, as well as become familiar with the standards and expectations for the week.

Meet Your Company

Youth meet with the other counselor groups in their company, play get-to-know-you games, discuss their company name, and create a company chant.

Orientation

All participants come together in an exciting meeting to learn about the week and meet the session director and spouse and the rest of the EFY staff.

Family Home Evening

The session director introduces the EFY theme and gives an FHE lesson. This is followed by games, unity-building activities, and company and personal goal setting.

Reflect and Review

Youth are encouraged each night to reflect on their experiences that day and record them in their journal or handbook. The counselor will lead a discussion of the principles they have recorded and help them to set personal goals related to these topics.

Session Director Morningside

Each morning the session director presents an uplifting message that focuses on and develops an aspect of the EFY theme.

Gospel Study

Gospel study is a time for the youth to understand the power the scriptures can have in their lives, increase their love for reading them, and develop a continuing habit of daily study. Time is provided each morning for participants to study.

Free Time

The youth are given free time each day to relax, play sports, rehearse for the musical program, and spend time with friends.

Classes

Classes are an opportunity for youth to learn about various gospel topics presented by outstanding teachers, including seminary and institute teachers from different parts of the country.

Dances

There are two casual-dress dances at EFY. Dances provide a fun chance for youth to practice dance tips, try out new dance moves and line dances, and socialize with each other.

Youth play fun, energetic games that build team unity. Each company has a chance to perform their company cheer.

Pizza Night (Overnight Sessions)
